About the project

The introduction of an application for the technical asset and maintenance management of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn is being handled in two phases:

1) Evaluation and procurement process
As a basis, the technical and functional specifications for the invitation to tender for the procurement of a maintenance tool for all infrastructure facilities and the rolling stock will be developed. This includes, among other things, a review of the asset structure with all subcategories and attributes.

Furthermore, the award criteria with an evaluation matrix for the offer are defined and technical and functional suitability criteria are described.

2) Implementation and realisation
After completion of the evaluation and procurement process, the contract is awarded to a suitable provider. The project is managed throughout the entire implementation process.

Our contribution

Enotrac drew up the technical and functional specifications which were then used to prepare tender documents for the procurement (in accordance with national procurement regulations) of a maintenance tool (IT application) for the infrastructure facilities and rolling stock. The workflow and operational processes were analysed and the functional requirements for the maintenance tool were defined in accordance with the standard ISO 55001. Enotrac was also managing the process for the assessment and evaluation of the provider at MGB.

After completing the procurement process and awarding the contract to the provider ZEDAS GmbH for the rolling stock and railway infrastructure, Enotrac was commissioned as the external overall project manager for the implementation of the project. This included the commercial, scheduling and content management of the project during preparation of the specifications, the installation of the application, the implementation of the interfaces to the surrounding systems, customisation, data migration, training of the users and administrators, and the deployment of the system.

In this project, Enotrac was able to successfully contribute its experience in all phases of the procurement process, from evaluation and tendering to implementation and training. Enotrac also took on the important role of liaison between the various specialist departments of the MGB and the external service providers.
