Independent assessment

As an independent expert, Enotrac is a competent partner for projects with safety-critical systems or components. These Independent Expert activities are carried out by selected Enotrac experts under the quality management of SCONRAIL as an accredited body . SCONRAIL holds accreditation as an inspection body according to ISO 17020:2012 as well as a certification body according to ISO 17065:2012. Other independent assessments, for example as an independent safety assessor (ISA) according to EN 50126 , notified body (NoBo), notified delegated body (DeBo ) or risk assessment body (AsBo) are also carried out by the experts at Enotrac AG.

The main tasks are the planning of the independent test and preparation of the associated test report. The requirements for professional competence and the independence of the independent bodies in accordance with the Federal Office of Transport’s Directive on Independent Verification Bodies (RL UP-EB) are fully guaranteed.

Possible components of the independent test include the verification of conformity with specific requirements (e.g. EN 50126, etc.) or an opinion on individual topics (e.g. wheel slide protection of railway vehicles, etc.) as a technical expert in the railway sector. The scope of the independent test includes coordination as well as clarification of the findings with the client. The exchange with the approval authority (e.g. the Swiss Federal Office of Transport) is also part of the mandate, if desired.

Within the scope of an assessment, the integration of a component or a subsystem into the overall system must be checked.

Enotrac competently performs this review in compliance with all applicable standards and guidelines for integration. The Safety-Related Application Conditions (SRACs) are checked for correctness. In addition, the traceability of the requirements and the SRACs of a component or subsystem to be integrated is checked. The preparation of evidence that must be provided for safe integration into the overall system (test reports, verification and validation reports) is also part of the testing process.

Enotrac conducts conformity tests in the subsystems of energy, vehicles and tunnel safety as an independent testing body according to European regulations. EN standards or the Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI) are taken into account as well as national regulations and laws.

Through active participation in standards committees, the Enotrac experts are always up to date with the latest applicable standards. The team acts as a consultant, expert or technical specialist on behalf of a Notified Body for interoperability (SCONRAIL).
