An overhead line is the power supply line of the traction unit. The central characteristic of the catenary system is its reliability in operation. This can be ensured through high-quality and well thought-out project planning.
Different systems are used depending on the speed, routing and climate, as catenary systems must be adapted to the surroundings. Tunnel routes differ from other routes in this respect; overhead conductor rails are often used instead of contact wires.
