SIEMENS Switzerland has been commissioned by the Morges – Bière – Cossonay (MBC) railway company to replace the train protection system in all vehicles on the Bière – Apples – Morges railway line.
About the project
All carriages of the multiple units, including driving trailers, both locomotive engines, two older railcars, a tractor and also the legendary historic railcar, must be retrofitted. As part of the modernisation project, the central devices and the display and control units will be replaced and an ETCS antenna will be installed.
Our contribution
SIEMENS Switzerland commissioned to Enotrac the retrofitting as well as the approval management. Enotrac defined the equipment (except for the Siemens supply) and made the design for the installation of the new equipment. Therefore, schematics, equipment list and wiring list as well as an installation concept were created.
The Enotrac experts competently supported the entire process during the conversion and during recommissioning. They were able to apply their comprehensive knowledge in the areas of integration, testing and homologation.
The successful conversion of the rolling stock, including the legendary historic railcar, began at the end of 2020 to ensure that everything was compliant with the requirements of the BAV and available in time for the timetable change in December 2021.
