About the project
The Matterhorn Gotthard Railway owns a total of 13 locomotives of the type HGe 4/4 II. Nine of these locomotives have undergone an extensive refit. Of the remaining four locomotives, three are to be operated until around 2030. To enhance safety, the ZSI-127 train protection system will be installed in these locomotives in line with the refit HGe 4/4 II.
Our contribution
As the general contractor, we assume responsibility for the project from planning through to successful implementation and re-certification.. Our vehicle technology team handles the overall project management and coordination, electrical engineering, construction supervision, documentation, commissioning and re-certification. Competent and reliable partners carry out the mechanical integration and conversion of the three vehicles.
The conversion takes place in the MGB workshops in Brig. The welding work is carried out by MGB employees, and MGB also provides the system components for the ZSI-127 . Through this collaboration, optimally tailored to the project, MGB benefits from the best possible cost-benefit ratio.
