The catenary system at St. Blaise-Lac station has been completely renovated by BLS Netz AG. The aim of the project was to increase the reliability and efficiency of the traction power supply and thus ensure long-term operational stability at the station. The measure is part of the ongoing modernisation of the infrastructure in the BLS network.
About the project
The existing catenary system at St. Blaise-Lac station no longer met current technical requirements and had reached the end of its service life. As part of the complete renovation, the catenary system was converted to a fully tensioned system and, at the same time, the conductor cross-sections were reinforced to ensure future power requirements could be met. The neighbouring SBB 66kV transmission line posed a particular challenge, as the necessary safety distances had to be ensured in accordance with the Line Ordinance and AB-EBV.
The main work was carried out during a two-week total closure of the line between Ins and Neuchâtel. The coordination of the work and interfaces between the various construction sites on the section was crucial during this period.
Our contribution
Enotrac took on overall project management for BLS Netz AG during the project planning and implementation phase. In addition to project management, our tasks included planning, coordinating and supervising all project planning and implementation work. As part of the planning approval process, we also liaised with the authorities, local communities and residents.
