The current focus area is digital interlockings, which offer improved standardisation of the interfaces between computing units in the signal boxes or server rooms and field elements as well as peripheral systems such as the control technology/TMS and ETCS. The EULYNX standard enables modularity between the individual components of a DSTW. Depending on the system architecture, IP and fibre optic-based networks allow for flexible and scalable control zones, potentially covering extensive route sections with a single interlocking. Digitalisation enhances diagnostics and maintenance capabilities. However, it also increases the system’s exposure to cyber threats, making cybersecurity an essential consideration alongside functional safety. Enotrac supports the development and implementation of secure, future-ready digital interlocking systems and provides guidance on transition strategies.
Our services
Thanks to their comprehensive expertise, Enotrac specialists support a wide range of activities in the field of interlocking safety technology:
- Preparation of safety certificates and management of approval processes
- Expert appraisals of project-specific equipment
- Support and expertise in the design of digital interlockings DSTW: interfaces according to the new EULYNX standard, network and security architecture according to standards such as EN 50159, CLC/TS 50701:2023 or national guidelines such as CySec-Rail. The Enotrac experts also have extensive experience in the national specifications and implementations of digital interlockings such as Deutsche Bahn’s new NeuPro architecture.
- Support for the specification, engineering, and implementation of field elements such as track circuits, signals, switches (points), axle counters, and level crossings, including object controller integration in DSTW systems.
- Acting as validator or independent reviewer for new developments of electronic/digital interlockings.
