In tandem with the advancing digitalisation of the railway system, both the vehicle and infrastructure sides must prepare and implement measures to protect against potential cyberattacks. As part of holistic co-engineering approach, security measures in the field of operational technology aim to ensure approach.

Ensuring passenger safety requires compliance with the safety requirements of well-known safety standards EN 50126, EN 50129, EN 50716 (replacing EN 50128 & EN 50657) and EN 50159. Additionally, the requirements for cybersecurity, along with the guidelines for the development process, are specified in the technical specification TS 50701 by CENELEC and the IEC 62443 series of standards. These must be integrated with the requirements of RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability), the actual functionality and quality.

Enotrac possesses extensive knowledge of the interplay between rail vehicles, infrastructure, and signalling systems as well as extensive experience in meeting the demanding requirements for functional safety and cybersecurity (both “safety” and “security”) in accordance with all applicable standards.

In the area of OT security, Enotrac offers the following services:

Enotrac supports manufacturers and integrators in implementing an OT security development process. We also offer assistance in implementation and OT risk analysis, as well as coaching and training employees in the OT security process.
As part of the client support for operators, the Enotrac team reviews the compliance and fulfilment of the required OT security activities. Our team also gladly assists with tenders and acceptance tests. Another important aspect is supplier management and the interface management for IT security (link)
Enotrac offers manufacturers and operators planning, management, or support for validation activities in projects with safety-critical systems. This includes reviewing the required OT security documentation and synchronising it with functional safety.
Enotrac places the highest value on the comprehensive training and continuing education of its engineers on the railway topics. This knowledge, supplemented by daily practical experience, is also willingly shared with third parties. We offer customised courses and training on functional safety and cybersecurity (both “safety” and “security”). These coverwell-known safety standards EN 50126, EN 50129, EN 50716 (replacing EN 50128 & EN 50657) and EN 50159, as well as TS 50701 for OT security in the railway sector. The course content and objectives are closely coordinated with the respective customer.
